google now

You know the feeling. You’re just miles from home when all of a sudden you see brake lights ahead, a sure sign of an incident on the road. Now, you’ll have a better chance of making it around the traffic. With Google Now's latest update, Google Now will alert you for traffic incidents along your drive. If this sounds familiar, it is because Google-owned Waze already does the very same thing. As you can see in the example above, Google Now is actually collecting the information directly from Waze. Whether it is roadwork or an accident, Google Now will alert without you even having to ask.

We can finally say that Google is putting Waze to work exactly how it should be. what do you think?

In depth transit info
The Google Search is improving day by day. Now, when you request transit information, a plethora of it will be displayed. This includes schedules, fares, and a countdown to departures. If a train is delayed, an alert will be issued to keep you notified. So as you can see above, by asking for a train from New York to Boston, the app will offer all of the info needed.

Google

We are finally starting to see some more additions to the Google Search app. While Google Now currently alerts users when a set event is approaching, it will now notify when the best time to leave to arrive on time. So Google Now will make sure you make it to a doctor’s appointment, dinner reservation, or airport in a timely fashion. Also added to Google Now is the voice command to call or text contacts. Say “Call Hamad” and the device will do so. If you have contacts with overlapping names, it will ask you to clarify.
With the Olympics taking over the world for the next few weeks, Google has added cards pertaining to the games. French, German, Japanese, and Korean languages are all supported. So if you are away from a TV or computer, cue Google Now and check out what’s going on in Sochi easily.

Google Experience Launcher

The day finally comes when we also experience Google Experience Launcher.Update of Google Search 3(3.1.8) is rolling out to all Android devices running Android 4.1 and above. This update is really big for a number of reasons.
First of all, the update brings Google Search version 3 (or 3.1.8) to all devices running Android 4.1 and above. This is the version of Search that comes with KitKat, and brings a new UI, as well as a new refreshed animation. The update also allows the Google Experience Launcher APK to work properly when installed. Hit the break for more information on Search 3.1.8.

Problem Fixes:

On certain tablets, the Google Experience Launcher had a number of bugs. For example on the Google Nexus 7, the Search box was off center, the keyboard loaded when you tapped home, and so on. The new Search update fixes all of those problems.

New Google Cards:

Not only that, a number of new Google Now cards are now available including a website update card, a news topic card, and a what to watch card. Other updates include Waze traffic incidents on maps, real time rugby scores, the ability to check when your packages are ready to be picked up in stores, and the ability to undo dismissing cards.
This is a big update because of the fact that we previously thought that the new Google Experience Launcher (GEL) would only be available to Google Nexus 5 owners. Instead, with the help of an APK (download link below), the Launcher is available for anyone on Android 4.1 or higher. Once you have installed Google Search 3.1.8 via the APK below or from the Play Store, you can install the Google Experience Launcher APK.

Google Search integration to Google Experience Launcher

Google Search is drawing everything you see on your home screen and handling all of the information. There’s still a Google Home apk, but it essentially just forwards all of the information to Google Search.
This makes it a little different than just adding a few extra search widgets on the home screen, mainly because of how it’s going to integrate into Android. First off, Google Search is updated through the Play Store, so this Google Home should likely be made available in the Play Store before long. It also means that any popular device that ships with Google Apps (even the heavily skinned phones like the S 4 and HTC One) will be able to take advantage of Google Home and bring a more stock experience to any device.
This is a pretty sneaky move to push stock Android onto every phone, but like how Google is handling their Play Services, it’s an excellent way to make sure that they can update devices with just a Play Store update instead of manufacturer-and-carrier approved OTA updates.
Download GE launcher and use on any device. But you will need all three files below in order to get it to work.

upcoming in Iphone:

Having a “conversation” with Google should also be more natural. Ideally, you wouldn’t need to pull out your phone or tap buttons to use Google. Google is not quite there yet, but you can already do a lot with just your voice. In the next couple of weeks, you’ll be able to download a new version of the Google Search app on iPhone and iPad. With this update, you can get notifications across your devices. So if you tell your Nexus 7, “OK Google. Remind me to buy olive oil at Safeway,” when you walk into the store with your iPhone, you’ll get a reminder. google will also show you Google Now notifications so you’re not late to your cooking class.

  •  better language processing.
  •  wider recognition for TV programming.
  • Search added the ability to detect when you're watching live television on an internet-enabled TV.
  • the TV detection card has switched from asking "Watching live TV?" to "Watching TV," adding that "Live TV broadcasts and some recorded programs can be detected," versus the previous "Only live TV broadcasts can be detected."
  • the latest update also has a subtle tablet UI tweak. Namely, there's a smaller margin on either side of cards when viewing them in portrait mode. This gives the cards a slightly more spacey feel, but opens up the potential for more dense cards in future iterations, and brings the tablet experience closer to its phone-bound counterpart.
