apple vs android vs windows

According to The latest smartphone sales data from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, Apple performing strongly in the first quarter of the year and its market share in the US dropped by 7.8 percent to 35.9 percent.Windows Phone is in third with 5.3 percent and Android is leading with nearly 57.6 percent of the smartphone market share in the US.
According to the report In Europe, Android remains the top OS with 70.7% share, while Apple holds second position at 19.2%. Windows, at third, accounts for 8.1% of smartphone sales.

Kantar Worldpanel ComTech strategic insight director Dominic Sunnebo said
“Apple regained ground in the first quarter of 2014, primarily due to the strong performance of the iPhone 5S, growing its sales share in Europe, Japan and Australia. By contrast, Windows had a tough start to the year as a result of its entry-level Nokia models facing fierce competition from low-end Motorola, LG and Samsung Android smartphones.”

Apple has been particularly successful in Japan where, in the past quarter, it has secured 42% of smartphone sales on NTT DoCoMo, 59% on KDDI AU and 81% on Softbank. The design of the iPhone (30%) remains the key draw for Japanese consumers, followed by its 4G capability (29%) and the belief that it will be reliable (24%).

In Japan lagging well behind Europe and the US, Japan will remain a key growth market for Apple.”

In China, phablet growth continues unabated. Devices with a screen larger than 5” made up 40% of smartphone sales in March.

Also there are more rumors in the market that Apple is going to release a device with a bigger screen.Just hope for the best but what the conclusion is Android won the race smartphones market share and Android is continuing its domination of the market.

what do you think will Android lead market till the end of this year or not?

The smartphone market passed an important milestone in 2013 when worldwide shipments surpassed the 1 billion mark for the first time, driven by continued momentum from Android and iOS.IDC’s latest numbers are in, and 2013 was a pretty big year for smartphones. For the first time ever, smartphone shipments passed 1 billion total phones, which is an incredible achievement. Android smartphones accounted for just shy of 800 million devices. Android and iOS were (obviously) the two major forces behind driving this growth, as both operating systems accounted for 93.8% of smartphone shipments total last year.
For the fourth quarter, we saw some pretty positive growth, too. Android shipments grew 40.3% year-over year, second only to Windows Phone. However, in terms of pure numbers, Android shipping an incredible 226.1 million devices compared to Windows Phone’s 8.8 million. iOS actually saw some pretty slow growth year-over-year, coming in at around 6.7%.
As far as manufacturers are concerned, Samsung is still by and large the top dog in the Android ecosystem, shipping almost 40% of all Android devices in 2013. There’s plenty of manufacturers in the second place spot, but none of are anywhere close to Samsung’s numbers. Not yet, anyway.
The growths last year were huge, but everything else has stayed pretty predictable. Samsung’s still at the top, Samsung and Apple ship more phones than everyone else combined, and BlackBerry is slowly falling off the charts. It’ll be interesting to see how these numbers change when smartphone growth inevitably slows down in the next few years.

ComScore Report

Latest smartphone market share report by comScore’s confirms the trend we’ve been seeing for a while now; Samsung and Apple continue to dominate the landscape, while most other manufacturers fight for the scraps at the bottom of the pile. The Q3 report shows that Apple lost roughly 0.2% while Samsung saw another growth of 1.3%, which combined puts the two of them in control of 66% of the market, or 2/3 of every smartphone. That’s rough for everyone else. Motorola managed to pull up into third place with 7% of total smartphone subscribers.
Motorola had a fairly large marketing budget for the Moto X, and we’ve definitely seen them ramp up advertising efforts, but it doesn’t look like it’s having too much of an effect on the market. To be fair, they were one of the only Android OEMs that didn’t lose market share, but they didn’t gain much, either. I’m not sure that 500 million advertising dollars was worth a 0.1% increase in market share, but it’s definitely better than losing any market share. I think this might be the combined effect of the “premium” tier of smartphone customers being saturated thanks to Apple and Samsung’s constant barrage of advertising towards that segment, as well as the fact that Motorola doesn’t currently offer many other smartphones besides the Moto X. Sure, they have the Droid line on Verizon, but that isn’t going to help carry the entire smartphone portfolio since it’s only available on one US carrier, however big that carrier may be.
I think now that Motorola’s latest creation, the Moto G, has been officially released, we’ll see a it more positive effect for the company within the next few months. The budget market is much more likely to swing than the high end, especially considering Apple and Samsung haven’t thrown billions at that segment (yet). Since Apple doesn’t really offer a budget device and Samsung really only sells their budget devices off of their premium Galaxy brand name, Motorola has a shot to offer an affordable but excellent smartphone experience with the Moto G.

Global Android Share

Samsung Android devices has Lions share of all Android Devices, We can Say that Samsung has been the reigning king, and it doesn't appear that’s going to change anytime soon. As of right now, 63.3% of all Android devices has a Samsung logo on it. This includes phones and tablets, and let’s not forget about phablets or fanblets (whatever they are calling them these days). The next closest manufacturer is HTC with only 6.5%
Top 10 Android Smart phones

In Above Graph you  can see that, when it comes to smartphones alone, the top 10 phones represent a 40.2% market share, but Samsung owns a total of 8 of them for a 37.8% market share. Only the HTC One and the DROID RAZR was able to make the list, and their combined market share is only 2.4%. The Galaxy Ace actually has a larger market share than both of these phones,

Android Captures Record 81 Percent Share of Global Smartphone Shipments in Q3 2013

Android Captures Record 81 Percent Share of Global Smartphone Shipments in Q3 2013

According to the latest research from Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) service, global smartphone shipments reached 251 million units in the third quarter of 2013. The Android operating system reached a new record of 81 percent global share, mainly at the expense of BlackBerry and Apple. Microsoft Windows Phone doubled its marketshare and it is currently the world’s fastest growing major smartphone platform. But the dominance in the smartphone industry continues to be lead by Google. In new numbers estimated by Strategy Analytics, Android has more than 80% smartphone market share in Q3 of 2013 (April – June). That’s an increase over last year’s 75%. Apple is undoubtebly in second 13.4%, down from last year’s 15.6%. Microsoft has also seen growth, chiming in with more than 4%. And BlackBerry continues its struggles and is hanging on to just 1%. With the Nexus 5, Galaxy Note 3, and Moto X all being launched recently, it should be interesting to see how future quarters fluctuate with Apple’s release of the new iPhones. Hit the break for shipment numbers.

As you can see in the table above, there were more than 200 million Android smartphones that shipped in Q3 of 2013. As for Android’s biggest competition, Apple shipped more than 33 million handsets. Clearly this can be credited to the fact that Android has various OEMs to make their devices, helping distribution greatly.

50% android devices upgraded to jellybeans

Android jelly bean is on 48.6% of android  device just 14 month after release.Android jelly bean has higher adotion rate is obviously due to fact that alot of newer phones came pre-loaded with it.i can say that good news is Jelly Bean has grown a lot faster and adopted much faster than ice-cream sandwich did.which is really an amazing surprise.
GingerBread the most adopted version of android in history now a days feels like windows XP because it is still on 28.6% of devices and doesn't appear to be going anywhere soon, you can say that,it will be vanished soon may be on release of android kit kat.Ginger bread is continuously dropping afcourse dropping rate is slow but it could be faster in future, from last month drop rate was 2%.but when owner of devices finally upgrade to newer version then it will be shrinked alot.
